Outreach

We are committed to bringing knowledge, resources, and support beyond our walls for all ages.

Community Partnerships & Events

  • Pop-Up Library – We bring a selection of books and resources to your site or community event. Library card sign-ups are available on the spot, and staff are ready to help and answer questions.
  • Speak to Your Organization – We offer engaging presentations and hands-on sessions tailored to your group’s needs.
  • Some examples of topics we offer:
    • Local History – Discover compelling stories from Hudson’s past brought to life with digitized historic photographs and documents from the library’s archives.
    • Library resources – Learn about programs, services, and materials available to you.
    • Technology help – Tips and guidance on using digital tools, e-books, and online resources.

    Home Delivery

When you cannot come to the library, let the library come to you! Selection and delivery services are available to Hudson residents who are unable to visit the library in person due to extended illness, physical disability, or extreme transportation problems. See the Homebound Services page for more information.

    Services for Schools and Teachers

    • Material selection – If you are a teacher or an educator who needs material on a specific subject or topic, fill out our Educators' Request Form and request up to 50 items on a topic or subject of your choosing. Librarians will hand select items that fit your students' needs.

    • Summer Learning School Visits - Our library team will visit your school—or welcome your class to the library—for an engaging session introducing the Summer Learning Program. We’ll share fun activities, highlight great books, and show students how they can join the challenge.

    Services for Preschools and Daycares

    • Storytime – Librarians will visit your school or daycare for Storytime visits, which include rhymes, songs, stories, learning activities, and crafts.

    • Traveling resource collections – Curated set of age-appropriate library materials, refreshed monthly.

    StoryWalk

Our StoryWalk, located on a fully accessible path behind the library, combines physical activity with literacy by placing pages of a children’s book along a walking path. Families can stroll together, read the story page by page, and explore nature while building a love of books. Books are changed regularly, so there’s always a new story to discover!

The StoryWalk was funded in large part by an LSTA grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services of the State Library of Ohio.

    Traveling Collections

Bring the library to your location! Our Traveling Collections service provides a curated set of library materials—books, audiobooks, DVDs, and more—that we refresh and deliver every month. These collections are designed to stay at your site, giving your community convenient access to reading and learning without leaving the building. Perfect for schools, childcare centers, senior facilities, and community organizations.
