Statement of Policy

The Hudson Library and Historical Society has an obligation to protect the safety of its customers as well as to ensure all its users can freely access and enjoy its many services. Free and unimpeded access is a prerequisite for meeting this obligation. Therefore, solicitation is not permitted on library property.

  • Library property refers to the building, its parking lots, reading garden and property adjacent to Morse Road as well as the interior sidewalk.

Guidelines

  • Solicitation on city property (city sidewalks) adjacent to the library is permitted so long as it is done in a reasonable and unobtrusive manner.
  • Solicitation on library property, as defined above, is not permitted unless it is for a library function.
  • The library director in conjunction with the facility manager shall make the final determination as to whether a solicitation is permitted under this policy.

Adopted: 2005
